Ir Chan Yew Kai, a Malaysian is currently a Executive Director of MPA and MPAS.

Ir Chan holds a first class Honours Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Malaya. He is a member of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia and is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers, Malaysia. He is also a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers, United Kingdom. Ir Chan has
over 38 years of experience in the oil and gas and petrochemical and chemical industries encompassing plant operations and maintenance, project engineering and management, marketing and business development and corporate management.
 

He was formerly with Imperial Chemical Industries Malaysia for a total of 9 years where he gained experience in plant operations and maintenance, project feasibility studies and project management in the fertiliser and chemical industries and then with Asean Bintulu Fertilizer Sdn Bhd (a subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Berhad) for 5 years where he was initially involved in the project execution and subsequently the operations and maintenance of the ammonia/urea plant.

 

Subsequently Ir Chan has been with Dialog Group Berhad (“Dialog”), a company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia, for more than 23 years where he progressed from general manager to deputy group managing director and then president / chief operating officer. He was appointed to the board of directors of Dialog in September 2005. Currently, he is the executive deputy chairman of Dialog. During his attachment with Dialog he has held various portfolios including sales, marketing and provision of a range of specialty chemicals (drilling base oils) and services (engineering, construction, fabrication, maintenance, catalyst change out) and the development of a number of new businesses (centralised tankage services, offshore supply base, radioisotope diagnostic services).
